The Edward E. Boccia Artist Trust is pleased to announce the publication of Edward E. Boccia: Painter of Nightmares and Dreams, the first major monograph on the American artist Edward E. Boccia (1921–2012).
Written and edited by art historian and curator Rosa Berland, the book brings together new scholarship on Boccia’s life, career, and paintings, with contributions by Natalie Prizel, Ben Street, and Charles Grund. Illustrated with color plates, the book considers Boccia’s large-scale paintings and his sustained engagement with literature, religion, mythology, and the history of art.
Published by the art book specialist press Hirmer Verlag, Munich the book will be available for purchase in the United States in December 2026 through the University of Chicago Press.
